Scoring in Some GROWBY Games

Certain games (such as Treasure Hunt, Dice and Slice, etc.) require strategic arrangements of various G-patterns (earned by the G-player) on a G-score-sheet to compute the scores. The procedure is fairly complicated, but very rewarding. We shall try to explain the methodology with some definitions and illustrations. (see below)

G-Suit Definition

A G-suit consists of 6 G-cards, with some G-patterns contributing to certain types which earn points (ranks):
RANK G-SUIT DEFINITION
1 1-pair 2 identical G-colors or G-shapes; plus 4 misc. irrelevant G-patterns.
2 2-pairs 1-pair of one pattern (G-color or G-shape) and another pair of a different pattern; plus up to 4 misc. irrelevant G-patterns.
3 3-pairs similar definition to "2-pairs" above
4 triplet 3 identical G-colors or G-shapes; plus 3 misc. irrelevant G-patterns
5 triplet-pair (full-house) a triplet of one pattern (G-color or G-shape) and another pair of a different pattern; plus up to 3 misc. irrelevant G-patterns.
6 2-triplets a triplet of one pattern (G-color or G-shape) and another triplet of a different pattern; (plus 2-3 misc. irrelevant G-patterns).
7 quad 4 identical G-colors or G-shapes; plus 2 misc. irrelevant G-pattern.
8 quad-pair 4 identical G-colors or G-shapes, plus 1-pair of identical G-pattern.
9 quad-triplet 4 identical G-colors or G-shapes, plus 1-triplet of identical G-pattern.
10 2-quads 4 identical G-colors and 4 identical G-shapes virtually; or vice versa.
11 quintet 5 identical G-colors or 5 identical G-shapes; plus 1 misc. irrelevant G-pattern.
12-15 quintet-etc. quintet-pair, quintet-triple, quintet-quad, or 2-quintets.
16 sexplet 6 identical G-colors or 6 identical G-shapes.
17-21 sexplet-etc. sexplet-pair, sexplet-triple, sexplet-quad, sexplet-quintet, or 2-sexplets.

NOTE: There can be multiple virtual G-suits represented by one or more physical sets of G-patterns (i.e. a set with identical G-color as well as identical G-shape)

e.g. 2 virtual pairs can be represented by a single physical pair (i.e. the same pair of Heart is also a pair of Orange)

See the 4 illustrations below:

Section vs Sector

Please try to pay special attention as how to distinguish the following 2 terms: section and sector.

The G-score-sheet displays a disk (of 3 concentric rings) containing a total of 10 sections:

Consider the disk as divided into 6 sectors (pie slices), numbered 1 to 6. Each sector fans out from the center to the outside ring, thus spanning 3 sections.

Suit Arrangement

For scoring purpose, you put exactly 2 G-cards on each of the 3 sections that make up a sector. The score is based on the G-suit (set pattern) of the 6 G-cards on each sector. Note that the sections within the inner and middle rings are shared amongst the 6 sectors. Thus you can raise your score considerably via strategic arrangement. Compute your total score on the G-score-form provided.

NOTE: You may have to forfeit some (1 to 3) G-cards if they cannot make up a sector.

To Compute the Score

The following 3 figures illustrate how one can arrange the same set of G-cards 3 different ways to achieve different total scores. Note that the only difference in arrangement between Figure 1 and Figure 2 is simply swapping the center section with a middle section. And Figure 3 contains 2 virtual G-suit (marked in brackets).
